Perth Theatre and Concert Hall (PTCH) has announced that the official 125 Live! commemorative film will be released on demand today - six months since the landmark city-centre celebration that transformed Perth’s Mill Street into a vast outdoor performance space.
Available for £5, 125 Live! From Street to Screen captures the scale, ambition and civic pride of 125 Live!, the milestone event marking 125 years of Perth Theatre and 20 years of Perth Concert Hall.
Taking place on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September 2025, 125 Live! unfolded across three live stages running from Perth Concert Hall Plaza to Perth Theatre Courtyard, combining music, performance, spectacle and large-scale visuals. The event welcomed over 4,400 attendees and featured more than 200 artists, bringing together internationally recognised performers and community participation in a format designed to showcase the breadth of what audiences have experienced across generations at PTCH.
Economic Impact and Cultural Legacy
Beyond its cultural significance, 125 Live! delivered measurable benefit to Perth's city-centre economy. Impact analysis found the event generated a direct economic impact of £1.55 million, delivering a £7.31 return on investment for every £1 of project funding received - a clear demonstration of how ambitious cultural programming drives economic activity and strengthens a city's identity.
The release of the commemorative film extends that legacy beyond the anniversary weekend, preserving a defining moment in Perth's cultural story and ensuring the celebration reaches audiences who were there - and those who wished they had been.
Angus Robertson, Cabinet Secretary for Constitution, External Affairs and Culture, praised the event's scale, ambition and impact: “It was encouraging to read about the huge success of the milestone event 125 Live! and the impressive journey of Perth Theatre and Concert Hall… Perth Theatre and Concert Hall has demonstrated an outstanding example of what cultural ambition and strong partnerships can achieve. The scale and impact of 125 Live! shows the significant power of the performing arts for communities and the economy.”
A Film That Puts Perth on Screen — and on the Cultural Map
Filmed by Inner Ear, 125 Live! From Street to Screen brings together performance highlights and the atmosphere of the city-centre transformation, creating a lasting record of an event that celebrated Perth's creative spirit and PTCH's role at the heart of it.
Christopher Glasgow, Director of Perth Theatre and Concert Hall, said:
"125 Live! was about far more than marking an anniversary - it was a powerful demonstration of what culture can do for a city. Welcoming thousands of people into Perth over a single weekend and generating over £1.5 million in economic impact showed the scale of opportunity that ambitious, accessible cultural events can unlock.
"This film captures the energy, creativity and collective pride of that moment, and ensures the legacy of 125 Live! continues to benefit Perth - and continues to shine a light on the vital role the performing arts play in our prosperity and wellbeing."
With sets by Walt Disco, Valtos, Parliamo and Ross Ainslie & The Sanctuary Band, and performances from Hannah Howie and Matthew Tomlinson with That Swing Sensation and UHI Musical Theatre Ensemble, and a bonus finale reel featuring DJ Jack David with projections by Alba Corral and light displays by Will Potts, 125 Live!
